Welcome to the Vero Beach Dining Guide
Powered by MY32963.com -- this guide has been created as a restaurant resource for all residents of the Vero Beach area.
In the Vero Beach Dining Guide, we will post profiles, hours of operation, addresses, phone numbers, photos and menu information for the leading restaurants in Indian River County, as well as the best restaurants within a 25-mile radius.
You will find our reviews fair, but exacting and if we don’t like something we’ll let you know. And when we find food that is exceptional or service that is outstanding, you’ll know that too. Our philosophy is that a great dining experience can take many forms and can be found in many places and you will always know how we came to our conclusions.
We also understand that in the restaurant business nothing stays the same. Menus change, new places pop up, old favorites close, so we invite your feedback about when it might be time to check out an old standby or visit that new joint that no one has heard about.
We invite your comments, please send them to reviewer@verobeachdiningguide.com

Avanzare: Great meatloaf at a favorite restaurant
(reviewed the week of 10/27/11) Question: Who would go to one of the top Italian restaurants in the area and order meatloaf? Answer: Anyone who wants to try what may be the best meatloaf ever. Once again, chef Roger Lenzi has outdone himself. On our most recent visit, my husband arrived planning to order Roger’s to-die-for braised short rib lasagna ($24), and could hardly contain his disappointment at finding the last portion already spoken for. The Amalfi Grille: Great steaks? I’ll drink to that!
(reviewed the week of 10/20/11) Back in the day in New York, in the era of three-martini lunches, my husband was known to enjoy a martini (who knows, perhaps even more than one) from time to time. But that was then, and this is now. For the most part, our drinks before and during dinner these days are wine. So I was a bit surprised this past week to see him mark a special occasion at the Amalfi Grille by ordering a Hendrick’s martini. READ FULL REVIEW
Quilted Giraffe: New owner, same chef and menu
(reviewed the week of 10/13/11) Claudia’s gone. The mannequin that for years welcomed guests to the Quilted Giraffe has retired. Also missing is the player piano and much of the eclectic collection of art that long graced the walls of this restaurant. But for this Victorian restaurant’s fans – and it clearly has some – the good news is the new owners, who a couple of weeks ago reopened the Quilted Giraffe after it had been closed all summer, have kept most everything else the same. Joey’s Bistro: New chef + new menu = new try
(reviewed the week of 10/06/11) Restaurants come, restaurants go. Sometimes, a new restaurant that opens in the place of one that disappeared is better. Sometimes, it isn’t. What you don’t see very often is a restaurant that has gained a reputation as more focused on nightlife than dining suddenly do a midcourse correction under the same name, and try to reposition itself as a place where you also go for really good food. Ristorante Di Mare: A great value if you enjoy wine
(reviewed the week of 09/29/11) In the battle for early diners seeking maximum value, Ristorante di Mare has upped the ante with an early dinner menu deal now scheduled to run through the end of the year. For $20, not only do you get a soup or house salad, a choice of six entrees, and a slice of Italian cheesecake, but the largest glass of wine currently being offered with any Vero early-dining program. On a recent Thursday evening, we again visited this year-old South Beach restaurant to see just how well you can eat and drink if you arrive before 6 pm. READ FULL REVIEW
